THE CORNER

Welcome to The Corner, where we virtually sit down with leaders and experts to get to know our partners and colleagues just a little bit more. Let’s meet Maridick “Drei” Amigable, Hinton & Company's exceptional executive assistant.

Navigating the twists and turns of life, Drei has surpassed even his own expectations and continues to check the box on his personal and professional goals. Drei joined the team last year, and joins us remotely. When he’s not busy keeping the team on track, he enjoys time with his human and furry family.

Get to know Drei (and add a new vacation rec to your bucket list) in The Corner Q&A.

----------------------------------------------------

  1. Tell us something we wouldn’t know from social/google search: It took me eight years to finish my degree! I pursued Information Technology and finally graduated in 2020. During those years, I was also working hard to make a living and support my family.

  2. What was a transformational moment for you: A truly transformational moment in my life was mustering up the courage to leave my hometown, which I never imagined I would have the courage to do.  I didn’t think as an introvert, I would end up in customer service. Taking that leap of faith years ago shaped me into the person I am today.

  3. Favorite Book: Without question, the entire J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series!

  4. What is something that people often get wrong about you: That I'm adventurous, just because I'm an Aries. When in fact, I'm quite the opposite! I very much prefer the more laid-back approach to life.

  5. The last show binged: Law and Order - I’m caught up on all 21 seasons!

  6. A concert you’ll never forget: It has to be Kamikazee, a Filipino rock band. Aside from it being my first concert experience, I also have a pretty neat scar on my knee to remember an unforgettable night.  I highly recommend you take a listen to Kamikazee on Spotify!

  7. Favorite meal: Chicken all the way!

  8. Favorite vacation: Bantayan Island in 2019, a year before the pandemic hit Cebu. After work one day, my partner and I spontaneously decided to go on a trip with a few friends. Sleepless and excited, we travelled by land and sea to reach the island. All I can say is its beauty is worth the effort getting there! If you're craving an unforgettable beach getaway minus the crowds, add Bantayan Island, Cebu to the top of your travel bucket list. It's a slice of paradise that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.

  9. Give us a snapshot of a moment in your life that brings you great joy: Spending quality time with the ones that matter the most brings me the most joy.

  10. What is the one thing you’re deeply grateful for right now: I am eternally grateful that my partner and I have reached a point in our lives where our monthly expenses are secure. We've come a long way from struggling to make ends meet, and now we are focused on pursuing our dreams. It's all about turning our "puhon" into "padayon" – moving forward with resilience despite any challenges that come our way.

Editor’s note: "Padayon" is a beautiful Filipino word that carries a deep meaning of perseverance and moving forward despite challenges. It embodies the spirit of resilience and determination, reminding us to keep pushing forward no matter what obstacles come our way. And then we have "Puhon," a word that holds the power of hope and trust in divine timing. It signifies the belief that someday, in God's perfect time, things will fall into place and dreams will come true.
